The panel dot is green while every node is Ready, amber when one degrades, red when one drops out. Open it for your nodes worst-first, each with how long it has been up or down, its role or failure reason, and CPU/memory where metrics-server provides them, plus a pods line and one-click context switching.
It notifies when a node stays NotReady, when the cluster stops answering, and again on recovery. Clicking a node copies its 'kubectl describe node' command to the clipboard.
Read-only: it never writes to your cluster. Translated into 14 languages. Bugs and requests on GitHub.
